Flip-Flop Season, Well, In Georgia, Anyway

It might be a little early to post this, but, since I just dragged my three kids to the mall in search of good children's flip-flops, here it is:

The Children's Place
has the best deal I have been able to find for both children's flip-flops and sunglasses. Both are $3.50 for one pair, or $5 for two pairs. And that is the beginning of the season price. I think we got Joe some at the end of June for $1.50 last year.

The flip-flops are fun, colorful and have elastic around the heel. If you are looking for a pair of shoes to hand on from child to child, this is not it. However, if you are looking for a well-priced pair of shoes that you can wear almost everywhere all summer long and toss at the end of the season-this is it. The kids lived in theirs all summer last year. It looks like they are going for a repeat, as Emily tried to wear them for naps and bedtime yesterday. By the end of the summer, Emily's elastic had lost its zing. It did not affect her ability to wear them. And honestly, they looked like they had been lived in for five months. It was time to part with them. So, they are not perfect, but the price sure is nice. Oh! And they are light weight, too. For smaller children, this is an important detail.

And for the sunglasses, just your basics. Cute patterns, different sizes and styles. But no Spiderman or Dora sunglasses here. If this is a negative, then go to Target. But these are a much better price and cute. They have both boy and girl styles.

Both of these are worth the trek to the mall for me. Even though our mall here does not even have an indoor playground. What were they thinking?
