Product Review: Crayola Color Wonder Finger Paint

Recently, I found Crayola Color Wonder Finger Paint on clearance at a drug store going out of business. I have the markers. I think the preschool teacher in me is not a fan. But the mother in me mostly likes the markers. Anyway, I thought we would give the finger paint a try. If nothing else it would at least buy me a few minutes of peace. BUT REALLY, other than the color changing thing, you may as well smear vaseline on paper. Truly. Even the color thing is diminished by the oil like substance making the paper translucent. Not to mention the kids got gooey. I mean, it was clear goo, but still goo. The kids went through the whole pack of goo in one sitting. But not all of the paper. The paper can be used with the markers-the one redeeming value. OK, well, it did buy me a few minutes of peace. ;) All in all, this was a flop. A good idea in concept, a flop in practice.

On a side note: cardboard swords and shields-not a flop in practice! In fact, rather amazing, other than potential risk to eyes, which the kids seemed pretty careful of, and maybe? the risk of paper cut? they were quite harmless. No smashed fingers. No sting if you swat hard enough. In fact, they were pretty flimsy and floppy and that bothered no one.
